  • This is a match to watch for every Eastern Conference team. DC need a win to solidify their position top of the East and New York need a win to stay in the playoff race. Sporting Kansas City will be looking for a DC slip up so they can make up lost ground and every other team in the Eastern Conference will be hoping for a win from United to increase their own playoff chances.
  • This will be the last match between these teams in the regular season. (DC won both previous by a combined 3-0 score)
  • United haven’t won at Red Bull Arena in league play since 2011, when they claimed a 1-0 victory.
  • Playing for the Atlantic Cup, the teams have a rich history against each other, dating back to the league’s inaugural season, when United defeated the then-MetroStars in the MLS Cup Playoffs. They’ve met 76 times in all competitions over the years; New York has won 24 and United have won 41, including a 6-1-2 record in the postseason.
